Posted: August 17th, 2024

EDWARD “ED” SCHNITZER 1953 – 2024 It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Eddie. A brother, a friend and an uncle. Eddie passed away at Chinook Hospital after a long battle with illness. He stayed positive the whole way through. A true fighter.
Before retiring in 2018, Ed worked for over 35 years for Parks Canada in Waterton Lakes National Park, a place he loved. His co-workers and many of the townspeople enjoyed his friendly demeanor and his off-the-wall sense of humor. Amongst Ed’s special social places was Pop’s Tap House North where many a hockey and football game was enjoyed with his comrades. His pastimes included collecting miniature car models, reading western novels, movies and old westerns TV series.
Ed will be missed by many. We know he goes to a much-deserved peaceful place. Rest in peace Eddie, you were the best of us.
Ed was predeceased by his mother Maria, father Karl, and niece Christina.
He is survived by his sister Helen of Lethbridge; niece Janine of Lethbridge; his brother Joe (Gayle) of West Kelowna, and his nephew Jason (Sonia) and their boys Kaz and Bodan of Boulder CO.
Interment will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, 1210 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
