JACK CLEGG June 1, 1941 ~ August 12, 2024
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Jack Wayne Clegg, beloved husband and soulmate of Susana Clegg, announce his passing in Medicine Hat on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the age of 83 years. Along with Susana, Jack’s memory will be forever cherised by his children, Allan Clegg, Donna (Calvin) Kronebusch, Brenda Doucette and Jack (Karyn) Clegg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine LeBlanc and Denise Norton; brothers, Fred (Maggie) Clegg and Rick (Eunice) Clegg; brother-in-law, John (Anna) Fehr as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Edith Clegg as well as one sister, Donna Clegg.
On June 1, 1941, Jack was born into a proud military family, a heritage that shaped much of his life. In 1972, He met the love of his life, Susana, and together as soulmates they shared an extraordinary journey for 52 years.
Jack dedicated 33 years of his life to serving with communications for the Canadian Armed Forces. His career took him around the world, and through his work, he experienced diverse cultures and built lasting friendships. After retiring as a Warrant Officer from the military in 1992, Jack found joy in a simpler life, working at a pet store, where his love for animals shone through.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack found peace and fulfillment in fishing and camping, passions he pursued throughout his life. His love for mentoring and guiding the younger generation led him to serve with Scouts Canada for over a decade, where he left a lasting impact on many young lives.
In retirement, Jack and Susana continued their adventures, traveling extensively and creating countless cherished memories together. Jack’s kindness, wisdom, and sense of adventure will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A come and go celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Brenda Doucette’s residence, 91 Craven Place S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, August 31, 2024, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to dress casual. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Robertson Memorial Branch #17, 702 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 0E1.
