Anita Helgeson nee Nechich May 4, 1959 – August 25, 2024 It is with profound grief that we announce the sudden passing of Anita on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
Left to mourn is her husband of 30 years and the love of her life, Monte Helgeson. Their devotion to one another was everlasting and constant.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Aldo and Inga.
Anita is survived by her biological children and grandchildren whom she cherished, Leah Gullickson and Tyler (Kelli) Gullickson along with their children Mackenzie, Josh and Ashton Sprinkle and Brooklyn and Blake Gullickson.
Also left to mourn are Monte’s children, their spouses and their children with whom Anita had a special bond, Lacey (Jesse) Stewart (Lauralie and Freya), Jessie (Robert) Theberge (Thorin and Dagen), Nevada Helgeson (Jayde), Skye (David) Van Esveld (Theo) and Vane Helgeson (Geir).
Prior to her health decline in recent years, Anita enjoyed an active social life. Born and raised in Lethbridge, she had many life-long friends and always made a new connection everywhere she went. She worked many jobs that put her in the center of the hustle and bustle of life including as a bartender and hairdresser in her younger years and later as the store manager of San Francisco Gifts in both Lethbridge Centre and Park Place Mall ending with her retirement from the Southside Shoppers Drug Mart.
Her friends were dear to her but her most precious companion was her older sister, Doris Larson, who is left to miss their daily chats and hangouts. They were inseparable. Their abiding loyalty to each other stood the trials and tribulations of life with never wavering support and love. She will be truly missed by both Doris and her daughter, Dina Larson.
May we all find comfort knowing Anita is in the loving arms of her beloved parents and reunited with her special pup Zuma, free from the pains of this world.
Please join us in remembrance for an informal Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 2pm-4pm at 2115 – 17th STREET, COALDALE, ALBERTA. Please use the Hall Entrance.
