STACY ANTON
Posted: December 4th, 2024STACY ANTON 1963 – 2024
Stacy Wade Anton, beloved husband of Kara and father of Nash and Crue, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 61 years of age after a courageous battle with cancer. Stacy was born in Medicine Hat and spent his childhood in both Medicine Hat and Calgary. He graduated from Monsignor McCoy High School and then attained his Journeyman Electrician Certificate through SAIT. Stacy and Kara began dating in 1998 and were married in 2004. Soon after, Nash and Crue blessed their lives. Stacy believed his boys were the “best boys”. He watched with pride as his boys played numerous sports, his favorite, of course, being hockey and only the Oilers rivaled that love. Stacy loved spending time with his family and friends, golfing, fishing, camping and traveling with our friends the Sulz’s and the Haaf’s.
Stacy will live on in the memories of Kara, Nash and Crue and will be missed by his “therapy” pal Oakley. He was blessed with amazing families. The Antons: mother Fern, sisters Velvet (Pat) and Schantel (Brian), and nephew Cameron. The Hanzels: father and mother-in-law Ron and Jan Hanzel, brothers-in-law Shayne (Sheri), Wade, Craig (Tara) and nieces and nephews Jenna, Bradley, Keaton, Taylynn, Beckett and Nixson. The Meyers: Ken, siblings Kenny (Deb), Brenda and Darren (Krista) and nieces and nephew Sasha, Brenda, and Noah. Stacy was predeceased by his father Harvey Anton and by Edna Meyer.
Please wear casual attire to the funeral and a hockey jersey (especially an Oilers one!) if possible. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to Nash and Crue’s education fund. Please e-transfer to Kara.anton1512@gmail.com.
A celebration of Stacy’s life will take place at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating. The service will be live streamed. Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit Stacy’s obituary page, on our website, for the link. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
