BERNADETTE MARY WIST (NEE BISCHOFF) Oct 27, 1946 ~ Feb 7, 2025 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and wife passed away peacefully, at home with Bob by her side, on February 7, 2025. Mom’s parents were Frank Bischoff and Magdelina “Maggie” Helm, who both predeceased her. Her brothers and sisters are Frank, Emelia, Alex, Caroline, Archie, Peter, Marlene, Bernard (twin), and Lucille. She had three children, Sherri Close (predeceased), Alex (Shelley) Bischke, and Donnalee (Darrell) Bohnet; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Leader, SK, and moved to Medicine Hat around the age of five, only speaking German. Mom was happily married and cared for deeply by her husband, Bob. Mom worked many different jobs and along the way, made many friends everywhere she went. She was very proud of her family. Christmas and Easter were always huge get-togethers. Her “O Henry” bars were the “family favourite. Her biggest passion was crocheting for everyone. Mom will be missed by all who knew her as she had a heart of gold. Mom always said for years, “No pit stop for me, I’m going straight up!” as she would point her finger to Heaven. We believe she is already singing Dolly and Elvis songs to her mom and daughter. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 2nd Avenue NE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 5Z9, on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 am with Fr. Roque Pereira, Celebrant.
