MURRAY, Wilda
Posted: March 29th, 2025 WILDA MURRAY 1932-2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother, MRS. WILDA MURRAY, of Picture Butte., beloved wife of the late Mr. Charles Murray, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the age of 92 years.
Mom will be dearly missed by her family: daughter Heather Duban and her children: Justin (Katelyn) and Lindsey and great-grandchildren: Brynnley and Cohen; son Bruce (Barb) and their children: Alison, Derek, Sebastian and Kristine and great-grandson Raiden; daughter Michelle (Clay) Hamdon and their daughters: Carly and Ally; daughter Beatrice (Brooks) Horne and daughter Meah.
Besides her dear husband Chuck in 2010, Wilda was predeceased by her daughter Cindy Boehm in 1984 and son-in-law Harry Duban in 2011.
Wilda was born December 19, 1932, the youngest of seven children and grew up on the family farm north of Picture Butte. Wilda was lucky enough to take piano lessons growing up, which would serve her well later in life as she became the “go-to pianist” for many organizations. Chuck and Wilda were married on May 20, 1954, and they lived on the farm, later moving into Picture Butte. Wilda always kept busy with her five children, her piano and volunteering. One of the most cherished memories of the family is Mom sitting at the piano tinkling the ivories by ear at the age of 92!
After Chuck’s passing, Wilda moved into the Piyami Lodge in Picture Butte where her sister Lorna lived. Wilda resided there until her passing.
Thank you to the Piyami Lodge staff for all the wonderful care over the years; Mom loved living there! Thank you also to the Picture Butte EMS, the Chinook Regional Hospital Emergency Department and Unit 3A for your gentle care and understanding.
A Remembrance Service will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 528 Maple Crescent, Picture Butte, AB, on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Glenda Wert officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, donations may be directed to Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, designated for Cardiac Science Center for Excellence, 960 19 St. S Lethbridge AB, T1V 2A6 or online (crhfoundation.ca)
