DARLENE BERGREN 1952 ~ 2025 Darlene Gladys Bergren, beloved wife of Doug Bergren, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the age of 72 years. She also leaves to cherish her memory two children Kim (Jimmy), Jennifer (Stephen); her grandchildren Cade, Connor and Kara; great grandchildren Penelope, Alister and Blake; her second mother-in-law Bev Bergren; her grand-puppies Webster and Oliver; her siblings: Ray (Kathy), Earl, Jim (Violet) Leonard (Anne), Shirley (Ron), Blanche (Larry), Linda (Ron), Bev and Hazel (Colin) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Victoria Pottle and second father-in-law Eric; her siblings: Florence, Alice, Agnes, Ivy, Joan, Gordon, Fred, Norman, Gilbert, Stephen and Ernest; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Evelyn, Edna, Olive, Lorraine, Darlene, Ole, Lyle, Ernest, Harvey, Larry and Chuck. Darlene came from humble beginnings in Preeceville, Saskatchewan and worked hard her entire life for everything she obtained. Full of determination and drive Darlene put herself through college for accounting, all while being a young expectant mother. That is true grit. She was generous, and compassionate; freely giving of her time and comforting presence to others through her palliative care volunteer work. Darlene was involved with Oil Wives and Desk and Derrick Clubs for 29 years. Even becoming Regional Director of Desk and Derrick at one point. Those ladies travelled, laughed and had so many adventures it could fill volumes. She was extremely funny and rarely passed up an opportunity to make you smile or laugh. I think she was fuelled by laughter. A natural artist she painted gorgeous ornaments and was even a self-taught musician. The consummate hostess, Darlene and Doug loved entertaining friends and family. She thrived on travelling and took every chance given to enjoy Mexico with Doug. The only thing more beautiful than the Mexican sunset was the smile on her face as she spoke of it. Her final words were “do you need anything?” Which was indicative of her generous nature and her need to take care of her loved ones. This uniquely amazing woman was deeply loved, and we are grateful to have received this precious gift from God. We miss and love you, Darlene. You can now rest peacefully. The Celebration of her Life will be held in PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celabrant Pat Grisonich officiating. The service will be live streamed. Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit Darlene’s obituary page on our website, for the link.
