Posted: April 8th, 2025 Donna Reed 1940 – 2025 Donna Reed of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Jack Reed, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 84.
Donna was born in Michel, BC, on June 23, 1940, to Mary and James Atkinson. Shortly after moving to Lethbridge, she met the love of her life, Jack, at the junior clubs of the Oddfellow and Rebekah fraternities. Their connection was instant, and they soon became inseparable, sharing long walks, lively dances, and deep conversations that cemented their lifelong bond.
The couple married in 1960, beginning a happy and enduring union that lasted 65 years.
Donna was active in the community, specifically with the Women of the United Church and as the musician for the Rebekah and Oddfellow fraternities. She was a strong and private woman, known for facing health challenges with resilience and a wry sense of humor, a legacy that will be remembered.
Donna is survived by her husband Jack; sons Robert (Paula) and David (Beverly); daughter Susan (Paul); four grandchildren, Kerry, Pamela, Katya, and Graham; two great-grandchildren, Reed and Elaine; and two 4-legged pups.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In remembrance of Donna’s life, the family asks that any donations be made in the form of contributions to the Oddfellow and Rebekah’s Challenged and Afflicted Children’s Fund. Donations can be made by cheque payable to the Grand Encampment, with a memo noting the Challenged and Afflicted Children’s Fund and sent to Grand Scribe Reid Hollander at #3-406 Highlands Blvd West, Lethbridge, Alberta T1K-5K5, or via e-transfer to Reid.Hollander@gmail.com.
The fund supports challenged children through monetary grants to the families.
