LUCILLE CHRISTENSEN 1933 ~ 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Lucille Kathryn Christensen (nee: Wutzke) in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 91 years.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wayne (Cheryl) Albers, Sandra (Anton) Albers, Susan (Cam) Jacques, and Karen (Courie) LaDuke; her five grandchildren Colton (Azadeh) LaDuke, Leslie (Tyler) Zeller, Kiana (Davis) Griscowsky, Logan Jacques, and Chad Albers; her siblings, Marge Ensminger and Robert (Doris) Wutzke, and her stepchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She was predeceased by two, loving husbands: Douglas Albers (1953 – 1967) and Edward Christensen (1979 – 1998); a son, Billy Albers; her parents, Edward and Henrietta Wutzke; her siblings and in-laws, Mary and Harold Odegaarden, Jim and Anna Wutzke, Bill and Louise Wutzke and Elmer Ensminger.  Lucille loved playing the piano, and she really loved to read.   Completing various crossword puzzles was a big part of her daily routine, along with sewing, gardening, canning, cooking, baking, or playing cards with family and friends.  Though she faced so much loss in her life, she found happiness and fulfillment in time spent with her family.  She never missed any of the special events in her grandchildren’s lives. Sports, school performances, graduations, birthdays, and weddings filled her calendar.  Lucille’s warm, gentle spirit, and generous heart will be forever missed.  The family would like to thank the dedicated Care Team and Staff at The Wellington who took amazing care of her in her last years.  A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held in PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating.  The service will be live streamed.  Those who wishto attend virtually, please visit Lucille’s obituary page on our website for the link.  A private family interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society Alberta and Northwest Territories: https://alzheimer.ca/ab/en.  To leave a message of condolence you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.

One Condolence for “LUCILLE CHRISTENSEN”

  1. Arnetta D Leach says:

My sincere condolences to the family in the loss of Lucille. I met Lucille and Ed when they lived across the street from Martha Hippe in Horizon Village. When visiting my Mom we would often get together with Lucille and Ed to play cards. I have many fond memories of our time spent with them.
