LLOYD RING
Lloyd Ring of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Sharon Ring, passed away after a lengthy illness on April 8, 2025, at the age of 87 years. Lloyd “Lefty” Ring and twin brother Walter were born to Clara and Harry Ring on June 8, 1937, in Swift Current Saskatchewan.
He married the love of his life Sharon Elaine Flemmer on November 11, 1961, and on their first anniversary 1962 they were blessed with their son Lawson Lloyd Ring, who could have planned that any better.
Sharon passed away on April 26, 2017, leaving a huge void in Lloyd’s life as they were a special couple.
Lloyd grew up with a strong work ethic always excelling in every endeavor he engaged in. Throughout his lifetime he would have several different jobs including picking weeds at a local market garden, grocery boy, machinist, running cattle, farming, managing Hawthorne’s Men’s Wear, Real-Estate agent, Co-op Agro, Co-op Furniture, and custodian at Medicine Hat School District.
His love for people was evident and positively impacted us all through his genuine personality based on faith, integrity, and compassion.
Lloyd excelled at sports with basketball, badminton, and favorite being baseball.
Lloyd was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and lived his life as being a huge supporter of any project, sports activity, and family gathering. He and wife Sharon would do anything for their family regardless of distance or timing.
Sadly, in the last several years he developed Dementia/ Alzheimer’s and yet remained positive and kind in his daily interactions with everyone. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Meadow Ridge and South Country Village for their love and care. You are all special people and greatly appreciated.
Lloyd will be missed by many, but we know through faith that he is now in a better place and no longer suffering.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Lawson (Rhonda) Ring, granddaughters Brittany Murphy (Nick) and Brookelynn (Cordel) Evans; great grandchildren Paxton, Kai, Summer, Macy and Kendrick. Besides his wife Sharon, Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Clara and Harry Ring, a brother Walter and infant sister.
We will all cherish our memories until we meet again.
Lloyd was laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, June 13, 2025.
