CATHERINE FLORA CRIGHTON 1931 ~ 2025 Catherine Flora Crighton of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Crighton, passed away peacefully at Legacy Lodge on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 93 years.
Born on August 24, 1931, our mom, Cathy, was raised in the Cardston area. Upon graduation from Cardston High School in 1949, she moved to Lethbridge to work as a telephone switchboard operator with AGT. Mom and Dad were married in 1956 and became parents to four children. Mom was a homemaker, volunteer at our school events, and a Brownie leader. Later, she worked at Sears catalogue office and found time to bowl, golf and go on many trips with Bill. After Dad’s passing, Mom went on casino bus trips and met her special friends for coffee.
For the past five years, Mom faced life’s challenges with grace and dignity, maintaining her sense of humour and never complaining. We are very grateful to Golden Acres and Legacy Lodges for the care she received.
Cathy is survived by her children Trish (Barry) Emerson, Ken Crighton, Dianne Koenen and Christine (Gary) Morris; grandchildren Shannon (Eric) Carmichael, Heather (Shane) Jarokosky, John Emerson, Eric Koenen, Danielle (Jonathan) Sehn and Jillian Koenen; great grandchildren Freya and Rowan Carmichael and Cameron and Hallie Jarokosky.
Also left to cherish Cathy’s memory are her sisters Joan (Alan) Irwin, Doris Durrell and sisters in law Theresa Coady, Miriam Smith, June Crighton and Anne Crighton.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides her loving husband Bill, Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Art and Frances Coady; brother, Bernie Coady and brothers in law Jim Durrell, Bob Smith, Ron Crighton and Bob Crighton.
We feel privileged to have had our mom in our lives for so long. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Flowers and memorial donations are gratefully declined.
In keeping with Cathy’s wishes, a private Family Graveside service has taken place.
