DAVE MAYER 1955 ~ 2025

David “Dave” Wallace Mayer, beloved husband of the late Linda Mayer, passed away in Medicine Hat on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 69 years. Born in Medicine Hat, Dave grew up on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work, a love of agriculture and probably a few creative ways to fix things with baler twine. He took his love of agriculture with him throughout his working life and was even able to turn his job at the Transfer Site into a social event. Dave enjoyed tending to his plants, GMC trucks, visiting with friends and family and making the most out of every moment. He was known for his witty humour, kind heart, wisdom and love of a good story. Dave cherished time with his daughter, Allie Bryan; her partner, Kayleigh Elson and his greatkids, Liam, Carson and Nick. He is survived by his siblings, Tracy (Sherry) Mayer, Kathy (Bob) Gauthier and Carol Maxwell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his beloved wife, Linda, Dave was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Vera Mayer; son-in-law, Nicholas Bryan and brother-in-law, Terry Maxwell. Dave will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him. A private memorial will be held at a later date for close family and friends.
