Posted: August 30th, 2025 DR. GRACE MCPIKE-KELLY 1944 ~ 2025 It is with deep sadness and love that we share the passing of Dr. Grace Doreen McPike-Kelly.
Grace was born in Lethbridge on April 29,1944. Grace died in Lethbridge Regional Hospital on August 21, 2025. Grace had many health challenges over the years. She fought with courage and determination to overcome them.
Grace is survived by her loving brother Andrew Schaufert; nephew/nieces Larry (Lynne) Andrews, Valerie Schmold (Madeson Zeviar), Karen (Bob) Vanderwater, Denise (Kelly) Goheen and a very dear lifelong friend James McPike. Grace is also survived by numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Kelly; parents Victor and Agnes Schaufert; brother Robert Schaufert; sister Evelyn Andrews and her sister-in-law Doris Schaufert.
Grace grew up on a family farm in Coaldale, Alberta. She was very athletic and enjoyed sports of all kinds. Grace was a very outgoing, funny, inviting, warm and loving person. Her warmth, generosity, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her.
Grace had a very successful career as an educator. She earned a PHD in Philosphy from the University of Alberta. Her life work was devoted to improving the education of children in Alberta. Her career took her to Lethbridge, Calgary, Sherwood Park. Upon her retirement, she and Richard moved back to Lethbridge where she enjoyed many years with family and friends.
A passionate traveler, Grace travelled to beautiful places all over the world. She loved cabin life and motor home adventures with family and friends.
Grace will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
