ANNETTE TUMBACH

Posted: September 12th, 2025

1937 – ANNETTE TUMBACH – 2025 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that the family of Annette Tumbach announces her passing on September 6th, at the age of 88 years.
Born on September 2, 1937, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Annette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. She married her beloved husband, Jim Tumbach, in 1958, and together they shared 45 years of marriage before his passing.
She is survived by her brothers, Mel Meyer (Pat) and Rudy Meyer (Bev); daughters-in-law, Wendy Tumbach and Julie Tarnasky; grandchildren, Greg Elgie (Vicki), Cory Tumbach, Logan Tumbach (Taylor Petersen), Nicole Tumbach (Taylor Johnson) and Kayden Tumbach; as well as great-grandchildren, Gavin Elgie, Zavrey Tumbach, Nixon Elgie, Kinsley Fourrier, Maverick Tumbach, and Wesley Johnson.
Annette was predeceased by her husband, Jim Tumbach; her sons, Neil and Troy Tumbach; parents Jacob and Magdalena Meyer; brother, Leo Meyer; and her sister-in-law, Betty.
Grandma was known for her love of hosting her family for her holiday dinners, a tradition that became the heart of every holiday season. As a result of these moments, every grandchild seems to have a favourite recipe that they will always remember her by. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would spend a great deal of her time on the phone, making quick check-in calls to see how everyone was doing. In recent years, Grandma took up crafting and decorated her walls with her creations, many of which were displayed alongside photos of her extended Meyer, Tumbach, and Frey families, as well as the many friends she made over the years.
To honour Annette’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on September 19th.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph’s Home for their care and compassion. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Annette Tumbach. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to
