BAKER It is with deep sadness that the family of JUDY LAYNE BAKER announce her passing at Foothills Hospital in Calgary Alberta on September 5, 2025. Born to Edward and Jolane Dickout June 30, 1957, Judy survived her parents, brothers and sisters, Beverly Petch, Barry Dickout, Brenda Boe, Allen Dickout, Gordon Dickout and Debi Luchuk as well as her son Bill Baker. Coming from a large family Judy was a devoted sister and a loving Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Judy is survived by her two sons, daughter and grandchildren whom she adored. Tim & Melanie (S) Shields; Tré, Xavier and Kalora, Mike & Jackie (S) Baker; Jenna, Sara, Emma & Liam and Holly Halter; Courtney, Creedin & Cohen, JoJo and her faithful, furry companion, Buddy Baker. Judy is also survived by her sister, Peggy Kipnik and her youngest brother Larry Batalden.
Judy had a long and distinguished career as a psychiatric nurse with the majority of her service years at Lethbridge Regional Hospital before her retirement. Judy was a generous and empathetic nurse, and was admired by her coworkers, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Judy’s family and friends would like to invite anyone who wants to pay their respects to attend an open house Celebration of Life at Judy’s home at 1126 42nd Ave. N., Lethbridge on Saturday, September 13, 2025 1 PM – late.
In lieu of flowers, Judy’s family has asked that you bring a dish that reminds you of Judy to add to the snacks, drink mix and warm food that the family will be providing. We would also welcome you to share stories of Judy’s sense of humor, her infectious laugh, and her generous friendship.
