ELSE STECKMEISTER

ELSE STECKMEISTER 1937 – 2025 Else Steckmeister, beloved wife of the late Hellmut Steckmeister, passed away at the age of 88 years on September 8, 2025, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Else was born in Kulm, Germany, where she met the love of her life, Hellmut Steckmeister. In 1958 they moved to Kingston, Ontario and later in 1979 they moved to Brooks, Alberta. After Hellmut’s passing she moved in 1997 to Medicine Hat, Alberta to be closer to her two children. Else was predeceased by her mother and father; brothers, Ono and Otto; and one sister that died at birth. She is survived by her son, Richard (Shelley) Steckmeister; daughter, Marion Harris; one sister, Valle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A dignified cremation has taken place, and a private time of remembrance was held.
