DENNIS EVANGELOS
Posted: September 18th, 2025 DENNIS EVANGELOS
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Dennis was born on June 30, 1939, to Caroline and John Evangelos in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He attended Notre Dame College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work. After graduation, he moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where he met the love of his life, Anita Gail
“Blondie/Gailzy” Fairbairn. They were married on June 1, 1963, and together they had two daughters, Pam and Nicole.
Dennis began his career as a Social Worker, dedicating himself to caring for those in need. He later worked as a Pharmaceutical Representative before moving into real estate, where he became the number one salesperson in Canada for several years. He then created a successful home building company before eventually founding his own home security business, which he successfully operated for over 40 years.
Dennis was an exceptional person bright, incredibly kind, and full of compassion. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a natural talent for making people feel loved and valued. He was truly cherished by all who knew him.
A man of many interests, Dennis enjoyed pottery, photography, stained glass, gardening, and caring for animals with unmatched devotion. He loved to cook (specifically his world famous spaghetti), but his greatest passion was music especially playing his guitars and getting together with his Notre Dame friends to sing and jam. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Caroline and John Evangelos; his sister, Avanthia (Joe) Swan; his younger brother Regas (Val) Evangelos; and his younger brother, Constantine Christos “Chris” (Doris) Evangelos, who passed away just one day after Dennis, on September 8.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gail; his daughters, Pam (Geoff) and Nicole (Laine); and his five grandchildren: Brendan, Sean (Kaylem), Kiera, Sarah and Mya.
The world was a better place with him in it.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Glenora Club, 1160 River Valley Rd NW, Edmonton on October 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA or Humane Society in Dennis’s memory. Special thanks to Dr. Dusang and the nurses, and amazing staff at Heritage House, Sherwood Park.
