LINDA JOHNSON July 13, 1943 ~ October 3, 2025 (82 years) It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Johnson, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who passed away October 3, 2025.
Born on July 13, 1943, Linda lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and devotion to those she loved. She was the cherished wife of Bob Johnson, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage – a true partnership built on love, humor, and unwavering support.
Linda was a loving mother to Ryan (Lana) Johnson and Amber (Clint) Capton, and a proud grandmother to Carter Capton, Ava Capton, and Bree Johnson as well as Lauren, Karina, and Adam Roerick. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family – whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating milestones, or cheering at all the various sporting events.
Linda was born in Lethbridge to Marcel and Helsby Aneca and grew up in Raymond. She was the oldest of 8 children, boys – Jim, Dick, Morris and Bob (deceased), and girls Joy, Judy and Kathy (deceased).
Linda spent her career as a registered nurse. She graduated as valedictorian from St. Michael’s Nursing in 1964. She started her career in the OR and then spent 13 years in the cancer clinic followed by 4 years teaching operating room procedures at the Lethbridge Community College. She missed the hands-on of nursing and went back to the hospital to her true love of orthopedic surgery where she worked for the remainder of her long career well into the 21st century.
Linda met Bob when the Catholic Nurses in Training Choir came to sing for a live TV show at CJLH TV station where a handsome young man named Bob worked. She asked for a tour of the station so she could meet him. Linda played hard to get and they dated for 7 years before they married in 1967. They lived a short time in their early marriage in Australia where she chuckled at her title of “Nursing Sister”. They moved back to Lethbridge in 1968 where they spent their lives and raised their children.
Those who knew Linda will remember her gift for making anything beautiful. She decorated for every season both in her home and in her garden. A trip to Linda and Bob’s for Halloween and Christmas was always essential to experience the magic.
A memorial service will be held to honor Linda’s life on Friday, October 10th at 1:00 in the McKillop United Church at 2329 – 15th Avenue S Lethbridge. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in her memory.
Linda’s love, strength, and grace will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
