TIEDEMANN, Evelyn “Jewel”

Evelyn “Jewel” Tiedemann (Durstling) Born November 25, 1927 Passed away at the Raymond, AB Hospital on November 6, 2025, at the age of 98. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Jewel grew up in a large family in Grassland, AB. She married Walter Tiedemann and moved to Tofield, AB, where she raised her family. After her divorce, she met Delmer Durstling and moved to Swan Hills, AB. Later, she built a cabin in Rochester, AB, where she lived with her son, Larry Tiedemann, and her grandsons Larry Jr., Damian, and Delmer. After her son’s passing and when she could no longer manage on her own, she moved to Raymond, AB, where she lived with her daughter, Gale Lowe, and later moved into Good Sam’s Care Home until her passing.
Jewel was a strong but kind person. She always looked after those less fortunate, offering them a roof over their head and food to eat – even when she had little to share.
She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed playing guitar, painting oil pictures, and caring for animals, especially her beloved dog, Buddy.
Jewel is survived by her daughters: Gale Lowe (Leo Cady) of Raymond, AB., and Laura Taylor (Randy Taylor) of New Dayton, AB.
Stepdaughters: Dani Durstling of Westlock County, AB., and Lynell Durstling of Edmonton, AB.
Grandchildren: Monty Trent (Shelly) of Millet, AB; Trina Bancarz (Blake) of Leduc, AB; Rob Lowe (Niki) of Lethbridge, AB; Penny Lowe of Sparwood, BC; Amber and Steven Kavaka of Lethbridge, AB; Larry Tiedemann of Elk Point, AB.
Great-Grandchildren: Trapper Trent, Cody Trent, Emily (Braden) Wells, Blake Trent, Cassy (Quinton) Berlinguettes, Bailee Bancarz, Landon Lowe, Nichole (Ryan) Tipper, Sawyer and Piper Lowe.
Great-Great-Grandchildren: Hendrix Berlinguettes, Tate Tipper, Braidy Tiedemann, and Corbin Dubajic.
Jewel was predeceased by her son Larry Tiedemann; granddaughter Tammy Trent; and grandsons Shane Lowe, Damian Tiedemann, and Delmer Tiedemann.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2026, at the Rochester Hall from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Snacks will be provided – BYORefreshments.
