Posted: November 18th, 2025 FRED WATMOUGH 1946 ~ 2025 Fred Watmough of Coalhurst, passed away peacefully, following a courageous battle with cancer at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the age of 79 years..
Fred was born on October 22, 1946, to Oliver and Edna Watmough. Fred attended school in Coalhurst. He married his beloved wife, Lynn Watmough, on July 12, 1980. Fred was employed as a truck driver for RK Trucking during the off-season of farming, retiring from his career after the birth of his sons, Kevin and Allan. He embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed travelling across Canada and the United States with his fifth wheel.
His passions included shooting, boating, fishing, and camping. Fred was a proud member of the Coalhurst 55+ Society and the LFGA Shooting Center, where he earned numerous awards recognizing his exceptional marksmanship.
Fred is survived by his sons Kevin (Dana) Watmough, Allan (Jill) Watmough; cherished grandchildren Emily, Oliver, Erin, and Allison Watmough; sister Alice Duhamel; brother-in-law Roy (Bea) Crawford, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families. Fred had a profound impact on many lives, serving as a father figure and grandfather to those he knew and loved.
A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
Flowers are kindly declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association – Shooting Facility, in accordance with the wishes of the family.
