Harry, or Grandpa, or Grampy, as he was affectionately known to his family, friends and especially grand-children was born February 12, 1931 in Lampman, Sask. and lived his early years on the family farm in Browning, Sask. His memories of the farm would linger with him into his late years. Especially his time travelling Canada with his prized jumping horse, Blackie. After moving to Winnipeg, Harold was employed at Canadian National Railway as a Journeyman Welder, Boilermaker and Pipefitter. One of his proudest projects was the re-building of a CNR locomotive after a catastrophic accident, supervising up to 80 workers and thus saving the Railway millions of dollars. Many family memories are centered around the cottage in Kenora, Ontario and this treasured place has a large place in many family and friends hearts. He also enjoyed many hobbies such as golf, fishing and playing crib. After retiring at the age of 60, Harold and Joyce moved west to be closer to family.
Harold is survived by his children Darlene (Jose) Quiroga and Gary Sacher, daughter-in-law Angela Sacher and son-in-law Geoffrey Nash.
