ANIETA KIENZLE 1957 ~ 2026
Annette (Anieta) Johanna Maria (van Tryp) Kienzle, beloved wife of the late Rodger Dean Kienzle, passed away peacefully in Bow Island, Alberta on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the age of 68 years. Anieta was born January 5,1957, in Taber, Alberta, the firstborn child of Paul and Jean van Tryp. She attended St. Michael’s School in Bow Island from 1962 to 1974, and graduated from the Dental Assistant program at SAIT in Calgary in early 1975. Anieta worked in Lethbridge for a short time before marrying Rodger on September 17, 1977, and together they moved out to the Kienzle family farm. Anieta worked alongside her husband and started her Avon career before they welcomed their two sons Jordan and Adam. Anieta and Rodger later left the farm and while living in Burdett, she went to work at Bow Island Dental and Bow Island Chiropractic.
Anieta was an avid Avon salesperson. There wasn’t a local trade show, community event or fundraiser where you wouldn’t see her smiling face and her table of products. She continued with her Avon business even after she moved to Medicine Hat and up until her passing.
Anieta also had a passion for photography and a keen eye for nature’s beauty. Many of her prints and photocards adorn the homes of her family and friends. She was always willing to photograph the important events in life and numerous special candid moments are documented, thanks to her.
Those left to mourn Anieta’s loss are her sons, Jordan and Adam, and her four grandsons, Austin, Zack, Parker, and Tyson Kienzle. She is also survived by her siblings, Joanne (Rick) Adair, Lisette Simon (Art Laubenstein), Wilma (Gerald) Struys, Anna-Marie (Warren) Bridge, Jack (Joanne) van Tryp, John (Natalie) van Tryp, Paul (Nora) van Tryp, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Anieta was predeceased by her husband, Rodger Kienzle; nephew, Sean Claggett and parents, Paul and Jean van Tryp.
Family and friends will gather for prayers in St Michael’s Catholic Church (1113 1 St E, Bow Island, AB) on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Wojciech Jarzecki celebrant.
