MARIE RABUSIC 1926 ~ 2025 It is with great sadness the family announces her passing on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at St. Therese Villa at the age of 99 years. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Rabusic, along with numerous nephews and nieces and extended families. She was predeceased by her brother Frank and her parents Frank & Helen Rabusic.
Marie was born January 23, 1926, in Kostice, Czechoslovakia. At the age of three, she emigrated to Canada with her parents and brother, eventually settling in the Raymond area. Her family started out working the sugar beet fields for the Walkers and eventually purchased their own farm.
After completing her schooling in Welling, she moved to Lethbridge and took her first job at St. Michael’s Hospital as a tray girl. In 1952, she took a job in Lethbridge with Taylor Pearson Carson, eventually transferring to the Calgary office where she became Office Manager.
In 1980, she retired and moved back to Lethbridge to look after her mother. She took a part time job at the post office and eventually found something that she loved to do: selling Avon products. She was very successful with it, building up a sizeable clientele and earning several awards.
Marie had a wonderful singing voice, joining the choir and eventually became the head of the Catholic Resurrection Choir as well as a soloist. She volunteered at numerous venues entertaining residents.
Marie touched the lives of many over the course of her 99 years and will be sadly missed, she valued time spent with family and friends.
The family would like to thank her many neighbors who countlessly offered their assistance and time to her. Also, a special thank you to the compassionate staff at St. Therese Villa, St. Michael’s Health Care Center, and the staff at Lethbridge Home Care.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, January 12, 2026, at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12 Ave S, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Kevin Tumback officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Therese Villa or to a charity of one’s choice.
