She was born February 19, 1954, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, where her life began with strong Catholic values that would shape her character and guide her throughout her years. Patricia was known for her quiet strength, fantastic sense of humour, and the deep love she held for her family.
Patricia was a loving mother, Nana, a cherished sister, Auntie Buck and a loyal friend. Her kindness was sincere, her support unwavering, and her care for others deeply felt by all who knew her.
Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Leah Olson (Tyler Friesen), her son, Brett Olson (Ashley Schneider) and grandson, Reese, who were the great pride of her life. She is also survived and loved fondly by her siblings, Penny Drury, Jerry Drury, Tim Drury (Monique Bonneau), Jayne MacDiarmid (Rod), Della Fournier (Al), and her nieces and nephews with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and enduring bonds.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ronald “Manny” and Eleanor (nee Flannery); brothers, Joe and Dave, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
She devoted her life to those she cared for, not only as a friend but also as a licensed practical nurse in Maple Creek and Medicine Hat. She provided exceptional care to many patients throughout her health care career which came full circle as she prepared for her end of life being provided with compassionate care during her brief stay at St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Unit in Medicine Hat.
Patricia’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the example she set through her compassion, resilience, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
