LINDA HIRSEKORN 1952 ~ 2026 Linda Hirsekorn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 73.
Linda was born on August 2, 1952, and lived in Fort Frances before eventually settling in Medicine Hat. After meeting the love of her life, Melvin Hirsekorn, she made her home in Redcliff, where together they raised their family and built a life centered on love and devotion.
Family was the heart of Linda’s world. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Hirsekorn and a devoted mother to Nicole Schmaltz (Trevor), Kari Painter (David), Matthew Hirsekorn (Jessica), and aunt to her special nephew Johnny Booth (Sandy). She was a proud grandmother to Stephanie, Kyle, Jordan, Jailyn, Reid, and Rhya, and a cherished great-grandmother to Jakob, Josie, and Kolter. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Lawrence, and close family friend Randy Fraser. As well as many extended family members and friends.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Hirsekorn; her parents, Emma and Thomas Wardman; her brother, John Wardman; her sister, Laurie (Lorraine) Booth; and her beloved grandson, Reid.
She took great joy in traveling, listening to music, and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their many activities. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Linda’s life will take place in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating.
