Posted: February 28th, 2026 SHERRY LEE SCHLAHT 1956 – 2026 It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family announces the passing of Sherry Schlaht, a woman whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. Sherry was an extraordinarily devoted mother to her daughter, Rosialee Joa, and a proud and loving grandmother to Frost Getz, who was truly her greatest joy. Her family was the centre of her world, and her love for them was unconditional and steadfast. To Rosialee, she was not only a mother, but her entire world and her hero, for the example she set throughout her life. Frost was often by her side from a young age, especially when Sherry was working with her beloved animals, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Born on March 13, 1956, Sherry was the cherished daughter of Ray and Loretta. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Terry and sister-in-law, Brenda; as well as her nephews, Mason (Nina) and their children, Leo and Emmy, and Deren (Dana). She held her family close and valued each relationship deeply. Sherry’s door was always open. She had a remarkable ability to make anyone smile and offered comfort, laughter, and acceptance without judgment. Her warmth created a welcoming space for friends and strangers alike. Her true passion in life was working with animals. She dedicated herself to dog grooming, rescue work, and rehabilitation, helping countless dogs find loving forever homes. She was deeply committed to training and agility work, pouring her heart into every animal she cared for. Through her compassion and dedication, she made a lasting difference in both the animal community and the lives of the families who adopted her rescues. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
