Barry was born on March 16, 1951, in Medicine Hat, AB. On his recent 75th birthday we surprised him by having everyone home to celebrate his special day.
He was a millwright by trade and started his career at Western Fertilizer; from there he worked in various start up plants in the western provinces before accepting a position at the City of Medicine Hat Power Plant Maintenance Dept where he retired in 2011.
Barry always had a fondness for animals and grew up with many pets during his life. One day 1983, an opportunity came available to purchase Allowance Pet Supplies. He made the purchase and later sold the store in 1989. If Barry wasn’t tinkering in his garage he could be found camping on a lake with a fishing rod in hand before his health took a decline.
At Barry’s request there will be no formal funeral service. Those wishing to remember Barry may do so with a donation to APARC or SPCA, 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8E8. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cook southland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
