December 29, 1956 – April 11, 2026
Charlie Hart, of Taber, AB, passed away in Calgary, AB, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the age of 69 years.
Charlie was born in Taber on December 29, 1956. He was raised on the family farm south of Purple Springs and attended Kinniburgh School and later St. Mary’s School in Taber. Throughout his life, Charlie worked in the oil and gas services and agriculture industries.
He saw much of the world while working in oil and gas. He covered most of Alberta and northern British Columbia, as well as spending some time in northern Canada. He spent several years working in the Middle East and travelled extensively on his days off. He also worked in various aspects of the agriculture industry, including grain farms, spraying companies, and potato farms. Charlie had an excellent understanding of how machines worked. He and his good friend, Tom Kinniburgh, spent much of their youth taking things apart to see how they worked. Some of them even got put back together.
Charlie will be most remembered for his enjoyment of a good time, his many stories, and his one-of-a-kind nature.
He is survived by his sisters, Maureen of Calgary, Fran (Neal) Tully of Edmonton, AB, and Rita (Dave) Guest of Kelowna, BC; and brothers, George (Bonnie), of Calgary, AB, and Pat (Bonnie) of Taber. He is also survived by four nephews and two nieces; as well as four great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Cecelia Hart; and his brother, David.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at Coulee Café (4110 A Westview Cl 2nd floor, Taber, AB), on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
