Charlie was born in Mechelen, Limburg, Netherlands on June 8, 1945. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 with his parents and 7 siblings. Here he began a life defined by hard work, resilience, and devotion to family. Charlie later married his high school sweetheart, Judy, building a lifelong partnership grounded in love, loyalty, and shared values.
A skilled carpenter by trade, he took great pride in his work and the craftsmanship he brought to every project. Beyond his profession, Charlie was known as a very kind and gentle man, loved and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family was always at the center of Charlie’s life. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, and held close relationships with his many nieces and nephews. His warmth, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
Charlie had many hobbies but especially loved the outdoors and walking. Those who knew him know of the endless miles he walked. Throughout their life together, Charlie and Judy enjoyed many wonderful holidays with their family and friends.
