VISSER, Herman
Posted: May 2nd, 2026 VISSER It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Opa, Herman Visser. Herman passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 90 years, leaving behind a legacy of gentleness, quiet strength, and enduring love.
Born on July 6, 1935, in Wolvega, Netherlands, Herman showed remarkable courage from a young age. At just 17, Herman immigrated to Canada alone, paving the way for his parents and younger brothers to join him a year later. This act of determination and devotion to family would become a defining thread throughout his life.
Herman was known for his compassionate heart, his quick wit, and the wisdom and kindness he shared with those around him. He had a deep love for the outdoors and being active, always appreciating the simple, beautiful moments that many might overlook.
Above all, Herman cherished his family. He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Rosa, their two sons, David (Diane) and Mark (Kelly), as well as his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the many stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
Herman’s life was one of resilience, kindness, and appreciation for the world around him. He will be remembered always and held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Herman’s life.
