In Loving Memory IRENE K. LACHER The family of Irene K. Lacher is deeply saddened to announce her passing in Calgary on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the age of 89.Irene was born on October 19, 1936, in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. She spent her early years in Fox Valley, later enjoying a memorable year in New York, before making Calgary her home, where she built a long and successful career as an accountant. Irene shared many happy years with her beloved partner, Harold Jones, until his passing in 2005.Irene had a deep love for her dogs, enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and took great pleasure in attending Stage West dinner theatre. A devoted fan of the Calgary Flames, she was a proud season ticket holder for many years. Irene treasured her friendships and cherished the time she spent with her family.She was predeceased by her spouse, Harold Jones, and her parents, Joseph and Tillie Lacher. Irene is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Irwin and Ken Lacher, along with their families.A private service will be held for the family.Irene’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at AgeCare Skypointe (Sundridge West) for their compassionate care.In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
