KAIN With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of ELIO KAIN, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Joan Kain, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the age of 91 years.
Elio is survived by his loving wife, Joan, who recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his children: Kelly (Carolyn), Perry (Kim), Valerie (Vince) and Marcy (Robert); grandchildren: Brian, Ashley, Ryan and Justina; great-grandchild, Ethan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vittorio and Stefania; his son, Randal; and his brothers, Luciano, Zorko, Marino and Darko (aka Albert).
Those who knew him, will remember his gentle kindness and service to those around him. From caring for his parents, brothers, and his own family, to his service with the Knights of Columbus, and his work in his career as a mechanic – he worked hard his entire life to put others’ needs ahead. Rest easy now, dad.
If we can take a small part of him with us in our daily lives – it would be to softly enjoy the simple joys around us. Such is a beautiful legacy.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 9:30 AM with Father Santiago Torres, Celebrant.
