MEDHURST Phyllis

PHYLLIS MARIE (nee Brocklebank) MEDHURST, August 4, 1919 — Aug. 30, 2012.
Just a few weeks after celebrating her 93rd birthday with family members, Phyllis passed away peacefully in her sleep in Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, AB.
Phyllis was pre-deceased by her first husband Neil Medhurst in 1944 and by their son Bryan Medhurst in 2004.
Phyllis is survived by four nieces and nephews in B.C., brother-in-law Don (Audree) Medhurst and five nieces in southern Alberta as well as by other relations and friends across the country.
Phyllis had a long and successful career in farm and urban real estate in southern Alberta. She was on the first Board of Governors of the University of Lethbridge, and was active in civic, provincial and federal politics.
Phyllis loved to entertain and had many wonderful friends. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude, her never-ending smile and her generous spirit.
The family is grateful for the excellent care Phyllis was given by the staff at Piyami Place in Picture Butte since 2007.
There will be no funeral service.
Cremation by Cornerstone Funeral Home
