ALLEN Gladys

GLADYS MAY SIMPSON SMITH (WITBECK) (JOHNSTONE) (ALLEN) passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 83 years.
Mom was a resident of Legacy Lodge. She was predeceased by Cecil Allen, Charles Johnstone, son-in-law Thomas Kinney and grandson Raymond Kinney.
She is the loving mother of: Susan Marie Kinney, of Edmonton, Jessie Ann Witbeck (Sydney Ives) of Lethbridge and Dawn Lee Teerlink (Richard) of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters: Elenor Perrett of Lethbridge, Donna Olfert of Raymond, one brother Monti Smith (Joan) of Lethbridge, and the Allen family. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
Mom was born March 24, 1929 to Alex and Ethel Smith. Her family resided in Taber and later moved to Raymond. Mom worked at the Raymond Care Centre for 17 years, operated a Beauty Salon in her home for several years, and worked as an LPN at St. Michael’s Hospital for 16 years.
She instilled in family the importance of continual learning, spirituality and hard work.
We will all remember how we enjoyed our special moments together with laughter, with tears and much joy.

Friends may meet the family on Friday evening, October 12 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church from 1:00 to 1:40 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, NORTHSIDE CHAPEL, 2223-6A. Avenue North, Lethbridge. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
