Therese Villa in Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She is the loving sister of Joseph (Audrey) Samuels of Lethbridge, Aunty to: Pamela (Scott) Gaylord of Pittsburg, Ca, Colin (Maureen) Crocket of York, England, Dorothy Plettell of Lethbridge, Jennifer (Lionel) Greve of Lethbridge, Elizabeth MacFarlan of Edmonton, William (Jennifer) Wheeler of Toronto, Anthony Griffin (Nanette) of Whitby, Steven Griffin of Ontario, Norma(George) Pitcher of Mississauga, Mary Griffin of the United States; Evelyn (Lenny) Mendes of Calgary, Christine Wheeler of Calgary, Michele (Paul) Brown of Calgary, Elizabeth (Calvin) Hammond of Calgary, Yvonne (Robert) Edwards of Medicine Hat, Richard (Sheri) Samuels of Irma, Karlyne (Carla) Samuels of Coaldale, Bylinda (William) Mason of Lethbridge, Chrislyn (Bruce) Sekiya of Edmonton, and Ben (Denise) Samuels of Edmonton and many grand nieces and nephews. Mitzi is also survived by her brother Joseph Samuels. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Ruth Samuels, sisters Helen, Evelyn, Dorothy, Margaret, Elizabeth, Mary, brothers Norman and Mervin Mitzi was born in British India and was one of 10 children. Mitzi was a Sergeant in the British Army (W.A.C.I.) in 1943 while in India and later moved to London, England where she spent most of her adult life. She worked for the British Telecom as a telephone operator. Mitzi met and married a Canadian soldier named Adalstein Johnson and enjoyed 23 years together. In 1994 Mitzi moved to Canada and resided in Lethbridge until her passing. Mitzi enjoyed dancing and loved being surrounded by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 – 11th Street South on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Canon Allan McCuaig Officiating.
