GRANSON Jacob

MR. JACOB GRANSON of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Lydia Granson, passed away at the Coaldale Health Care Center on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the age of 82 years old.
Jacob was born in Josefsthal, Ukraine on August 29, 1930. In 1943 Jacob moved to Germany where he met his wife Lydia. They were married on January 28, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in June 1951. Jacob resided in Coaldale until his passing.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Lydia of 62 years; his children Erica (Don) Wentz of Coaldale, Regina (Brent) Dudley of Magrath, Alvera (Bryan) Hansen of Coaldale, and David (Nadine) Granson of Coaldale; and 5 grandchildren Jeffrey and Jeremy Hansen and Emily, Dylan and Brandon Granson. Jacob was predeceased by his parents John and Jacobina, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Before Jacob’s retirement in 1995, he was employed by the Town of Coaldale for 16 years. In his spare time he liked to go fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered and loved by his family. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Luykenaar for his excellent care of Jacob throughout his illness. Also many thanks to the staff of the Coaldale Health Care Centre.
A Celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the CHRIST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 416 – 12 Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor James Krause officiating. Interment to follow at the Coaldale Community Cemetery.
