LEONARD Gertrude
Posted: November 1st, 2012MRS. GERTRUDE LEONARD of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Stephen Leonard, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the age of 94 years.
Gertrude was born in Bedum, Holland and when she was six years old the family emigrated to Southern Alberta. Gertrude was happiest in her yard and garden, baking cookies and pastries, and decorating the front yard at Christmas with homemade decorations and lights. She enjoyed and cherished her years at Thriftway Pharmacy. She spent her retirement years visiting Don and Kathy and all her adopted friends in Sun Valley, Idaho. Gertrude is survived by her son Donald (Kathy), as well as numerous nieces, a nephew and their families. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stephen and her siblings John, Jim, Alice, Tina and Harry. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Lethbridge Chapter, #402, 740 – 4 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9 or to a charity of one’s choice. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS CHAPEL OF PEACE, located in the Mountain View Cemetery, with Reverend Trevor Potter officiating.
