She returned to Alberta to reside in Lethbridge; in her later years she moved back to the Blood Reserve where she became a mother to all and a friend and this was one of the dominant forces in her life. Alfreda enjoyed being a home-maker and was very creative, proficient, selfless and caring. She was a special lady who valued life, family, and friends and was thankful for the many blessings in life. Even though Alfreda was inflicted with rheumatoid arthritis she was active and participated in all family activities which kept her young at heart. Alfreda’s legacy included the foster care services that she provided. She considered her grandchildren the lights of her life.
“Please don’t sing sad songs for me. Forget your grief and tears.
For I am in a perfect place, away from pain and tears…
I’m far away from sorrow, and hurt and want and pride.
I have a place with the Creator at my side.”
It is with deep sadness to express the loss of a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend.
