CHRISTINA (CHRIS) MALZENSKI, beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Malzenski, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Centre, Lethbridge, on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the age of 83 years.
She worked at the Crowsnest Pass Hospital as a nurse’s Aide, then later as a cook at the Turtle Mountain Hotel. Chris loved to spend time cooking, baking, gardening, and was fondly known as “Mrs. Clean” for her habit of bleaching and scrubbing everything in sight. Her favorite times were family gatherings; making homemade buns, perogies and cinnamon buns to be enjoyed by all. She took special time with grandkids and great-grandchildren, babysitting and passing on her culinary skills.
She is survived by three daughters: Carol (Eugene) Fosty; Betty Dingreville (Leo); Sandra (Bob) O’Brien; six grandchildren: Dawn (Steve) Crane; Bill (Natalie) Olinek; Allen Dingreville; Shauna (Dale) O’Brien; Errol Nystrom; Behn Nystrom; seven great grandchildren; and one great, great, grandson. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters.
Chris was predeceased by one brother, George Vlchek, a great great grandson, Tyrell Nystrom, and a son-in-law, Preston Nystrom.
A private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Lethbridge, 402 – 740 – 4 Ave. S. Lethbridge, AB T1J ON9.
