It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of the most amazing wife, mother and grandmother, NORMA “GWEN” NIELSON. Gwen passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer and kidney disease. Gwen was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on November 7, 1945 to Edward and Isabel Harbottle.
Gwen is survived by her husband of 45 years, Garry; daughter Jill (James) Coast; son Kyle (Amber) Nielson; her precious grandchildren Karli and Nathan Coast and Chase and Ryder Nielson; sister in law Geri Harbottle; sister and brother in law Margo and Russell McLean and their children. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Ken Harbottle; niece Tracy Harbottle; father and mother in law Lewis and Margaret Nielson; sister and brother in law Geraldine and Brian Afseth.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Monday, November 12, 2012 at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 220-20th St., Fort Macleod, AB with Reverend Eras Van Zyl, Officiating. Inurnment to follow in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gwen’s memory can be made to Lethbridge Renal Clinic, 960-19th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5.
