ROBERT “BOB” JIMMY AKSNOWICZ of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the age of 54 years.
Bob is survived by his mother “Matka” Czesia and father “Pappy” Alfons Aksnowicz, sister Gina (Larry) Wojtowicz, niece Jennifer (Gordon) Buit, great-nephew Tristan Bello, nephew Justin (Sam) Buit, sister Alice (Danny) Renning, nephew Kevin (April) Renning, and good friends Carrie, Tim and Jeannie.
Bob was born on July 17, 1958. He was a very hard worker, getting the job done right! He worked as a hired hand for many farms, landscaping and even took on the challenge of college to learn welding later in life. Bob was a man that truly had a gentle soul, who lived life the way he wanted. He tinkered and fixed small motors as well as electronics in his spare time. Bob also enjoyed fishing, listening to music, playing with animals (especially dogs), visiting with friends, watching and playing hockey, and helping his family, friends and neighbors anytime they needed a hand. During the challenging parts of Bob’s life he was able to make it through with the support of his family. Bob was often seen in the backyard, a smoke and beer in hand, shooting the breeze with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all that in fact knew him.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held on 7:00 pm, on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge with Father Kevin Tumback officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
