WINTERS Juanita
Posted: March 29th, 2013JUANITA YVONNE WINTERS (JAEB), beloved wife of Cal Winters of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Michael’s Hospital on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the age of 77 years.
She was also the loving mother of Mellany Winters and her husband Dennis Gill of Seattle, Washington, and three grown children of Cal’s – Greg Winters of Havre, MT, Lori Kirkham of Pennsylvania, and Jennifer Griffin of Seattle, WA.
Juanita was born on July 20, 1935 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and was the youngest of 13 children. Surviving siblings include three brothers: Melvin (Doreen) Jaeb of Humboldt, SK; Walter (Norma) Jaeb of Kamloops, BC; and Lloyd Jaeb of Blairmore, AB; and two sisters: Lou Carlson and Merle Arnold, both of Medicine Hat, AB.
Juanita loved people and it showed in all aspects of her life. As a hairdresser in Lethbridge, Waterton, and Pincher Creek, she was passionate about making everyone feel special and it showed with her great customer service and listening ear. She was a successful small business owner with her husband Cal, extremely gifted musically and with her hands. She embraced living, loved animals (especially cats) and was an amazing cook!
Juanita loved life and although her time with us passed too quickly, she will be fondly remembered for her beauty, her compassionate character and Cal’s soul mate. We will miss her dearly and she will remain in our hearts forever.
“Love you always My Beautiful Darling!”

Our most sincere condolences for your loss. In this time of grief please find strength in God’s inviting and comforting arms (2corinthians1:3-4).
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dawn.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I met Juanita while we stayed in St. Micheals, and we quickly became good friends. I appreciated her strength and humility, but most of all her friendship. We were able to be there for each other during some very difficult times. I loved her very much and can only imagine how those who knew her longer must feel. She spoke often of her dear Cal, and so that is who I pray for the most to carry on and endure well until he reaches that special birthday. May God bless and keep you always.
