Posted: April 3rd, 2013THOMAS “TOM” JOHN NICOL, beloved husband of Llynn Nicol of Coalhurst, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 65.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by his son Jim (Stacy) Nicol and their children Tansy, Tristan, Liam, Emma, and Comfort Llynn of Raymond and his daughter Kim (Sara) NIcol of Burnaby. Tom is survived by four siblings; Yvonne (Dick) Kerber, Barbara (Lou) Fekete, Brian (Ferrol) Nicol, and Reg (Bonnie) Nicol. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents Jim and Barbara Nicol. Tom was born in Lethbridge and raised on a farm in Kipp. He attended school in Coalhurst and took the agriculture program at the Olds college. While working in Edmonton he met the love of his life Llynn Waters and spent the next 45 years together. After meeting Llynn, Tom took a position as a foreman with Bannister pipelines, working his way across Canada. Due to illness Tom retired early and together with his wife and 2 children moved back to Coalhurst ” To God’s Country”. Tom was an avid supporter of the Coalhurst Legion #273 and of the town of Coalhurst. Tom will be fondly remembered for being the “Go To Guy” for fixing computers and helping out where there was help to be given. A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Harold Martin, officiating. Celebration of Life will take place at the Coalhurst Legion at a later date, further information will follow. NO FLOWERS DUE TO ALLERGIES.
