BRANDVOLD Ella

ELLA LOUISE BRANDVOLD (NEE HILLMER), of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Edward Brandvold, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the age of 81 years.

Ella was born on January 22, 1932 in Magrath, AB where she was raised and educated. She went on to train as a nursing aid. Ella began working in the Carmangay Hospital, this is where she met Ed Brandvold and they were married March 27, 1953. Together Ella and Ed moved to Calgary where Ella spent 30 years in administration with the Hudson Bay Company. They then retired to Lethbridge 15 years ago. Ella enjoyed camping, fishing with friends, travelling, playing Euchre, and the happy times with her friends at the condo. She also served on the executive at the Condo.  Ella’s home was always open to family and friends and many hours were spent laughing and visiting.  Ella is survived by three brothers, Robert Hillmer, Norman (Barbara) Hillmer and Ervin (Carolynn) Hillmer, one sister Marie Gillett, one sister in law Evelyn Hillmer and many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.  Beside her loving husband Edward, she was predeceased by parents Harry and Nettie, four brothers Lawrence “Chalky”, Albert “Bart”, Marvin and George, two sisters in law Agnes and Vera and one brother in law George Gillett.  A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Lindemann officiating. A private family interment will follow. Friends are invited to a memorial luncheon with the family at The Coast Hotel 526 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. immediately after the memorial service.
