ASH Annie
Posted: May 7th, 2013Annie Sophia Hood Ash passed away April 30, 2013 at the age of 92 years in the Garden Vista Assisted Living Facility in Magrath, Alberta.
Annie was born November 18, 1920 on her parent’s homestead near Ituna, Saskatchewan.
Annie is predeceased by her parents Victor Gordon Hood and Pearl Irene Gooden. She is also predeceased by her older siblings: Mildred Hill, Florence McQuay, Margaret Martin, Victor Gordon (Sandy) Hood and younger siblings: Andrew Hood, David Hood, Matilda Godding and Robert Hood. Left to celebrate her passing are sisters Beatrice Martin, Cora Mufford and brother Bruce (Anita) Hood. There are also many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Annie married Carl Ash (deceased) and they have two children, Ross & Kathleen, whom Annie raised successfully while working as a single mother. The family lived in Raymond, Alberta. While in Raymond, Annie joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served many years teaching the children in Primary, serving in the Relief Society and singing in the choir. She loved serving those around her.
Annie’s greatest joy was her family: her two children, six grand children, twenty great grand children and one great great grandson. These include, Ross (Peggy) Ash of Cardston: Amy Ash & daughter, Tanisha Low; Aaron (Jennifer) Ash & Madison, Miranda, Carlee, Adam; Natalie (Paul) Conrad & Bethany, Savannah, Kathryn, Rigdon, Noelle, Joseph; Spencer (Rebecca) Ash & Mackenzie, William, Alexander, Christian. Kathleen (Tom) Obermeyer of Lethbridge: Tracy (Don) Holeman & Jonathan, Wayne, Alesha (son, Brady); Dawna Welterlich & Korey, Shelby. They loved and cherished her as a dear and wonderful Mom and Grandmother whom they will remember with many fond memories.
The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home (107- 6th St. W.), Cardston, AB on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop M. James Ferguson officiating. Friends may meet the family from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m prior to the Service. Interment to follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
