SMITH

LINDA BELLE TOLLEY SMITH, at the age of 81, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016, in the Cardston Hospital with her loving family around her. Born January 22, 1935, she grew up in Mt View, Alberta, and was married and lived in Hill Spring, Alberta, from 1968 to 2014 before moving into assisted living in Cardston.

She served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Africa in 1958.

Always a hard worker, she graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge in 1956. She went on to a career as a nurse. She taught nursing at BYU in Utah, was a public health nurse, and worked in various locations before meeting and marrying her eternal companion Richard (Dick) Smith in November 1968.

Linda Belle was known for her loving and caring spirit. She loved to ‘clown’ around and included everyone as a friend. Ever the joker, she was a joy to be around. Games, cards, and visiting were some of her favorite pastimes.

She loved to travel; one of her favorite trips was when she and two friends drove to Guatemala. Linda was always looking for an adventure. Whether it was touring the Holy Land or parasailing in Mexico, she loved and lived life to the fullest.

Her favorite thing in life, though, was being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children—Virginia (Allan) Spence, Amy Smith (Wade), Lloyd Smith, Ellen (Dan) Brooks, Chelsie (Terry) Knight—and 19 grandchildren.

She was loved and will be missed.

Friends may meet the family at Legacy Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to

the Service.

The Funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hill Spring, AB on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment to follow at the Hill Spring Cemetery.

Your Mom was indeed a special lady & we will always remember her for the warmth & kindness that she showed us while in Hillspring. Scott holds dear memories of your mom from his time at the hatchery; a strong lady full of vigor, strength & faith. You must miss her immensely & we are so sorry to hear that she is gone.
