It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Mr. Ernest Yurkowski, on Monday, January 15, 2018, at the age of 83 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Violet; daughter, Linda; sister, Frances Hnatiuk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Katherine (Olynyk) Yurkowski; brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Marlene Yurkowski; and brother-in-law, Walter Hnatiuk.
Ernie’s career included working at the Bank of Nova Scotia and the Alberta Liquor Board. In his spare time, he loved to play the violin. He and his band entertained in Southern Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects the hour prior.
We would like to thank staff at Chinook Regional Hospital for their compassion and loving care of Ernie, as well as his good friend Murray Campbell who was always there for him. Thank you to Access-A-Ride bus staff who helped Ernie in a time of need.

Ernie will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

I just found this. So sorry for your loss. I would have certainly come to the funeral had I known. It would have been very nice to see you even under the sad circumstance. Say Hi to your mom.
