LLOYD

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to RALPH JAMES LLOYD, beloved husband of Grace Lloyd. A husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 82 years.

Besides his loving wife, he will lovingly be remembered by his daughters, Colleen (Marty) Vredegoor & Patsy (Lucky) Van Ryn, his grandchildren, Mandie (Shane) Vredegoor, Jordan (Caley) Reid & Melissa (Taylor) Bilodeau and great-grandchild, Hadley Bilodeau.

Ralph was predeceased by his daughter, Karen McNeely, his parents, Floyd & Marion Lloyd, grandparents, Irene & Percy Pallin and Ransom & Myrtle Pierson, his mother and father-in-law, Grace & Frank Rodinyak as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a niece.

Ralph served three years in the Navy and was honourably discharged in 1958. Once out of the Navy, he worked on the Lethbridge Police Force and later moved to Pincher Creek to work on the Pincher Creek Police Force. Afterward, he moved to Calgary to work at the Spy Hill Jail before eventually returning to the Pincher Creek area where his parents resided in the Gladstone Valley. He finished out his working career before retirement at Acklands Automotive in Lethbridge.

During his retirement, his favorite pastimes were camping, boating, fishing and spending time with his family. Once his grandchildren came along, he got to share his love of outdoors with them and always took them along camping and fishing. He will always be remembered as a loving and giving man who would do anything for you if it was in his power to do so. We all love him and will miss him dearly.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Glenda Wert officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Alzheimer Society Lethbridge: #40, 1202 – 2 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0E3.

Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.
