ABRAM “ABE” THIESSEN, beloved husband of Tena Thiessen, of Coaldale, passed away peacefully at the Coaldale Health Centre, on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the age of 93 years.
Abe was born in Hague, Saskatchewan on June 28, 1925. Besides his wife of 67 years, he is survived by two daughters, Leona (Sieg) Becker of Calgary and Pam (Dave) Quinn of the Readymade district; five granddaughters: Alyssa (Cal) Becker-Burns, Caroline (Chris) Thomas, Bonnie (Scott) Quinn/Friesen, Elisabeth (Jake) Pascal and Katie Quinn; three great-grandchildren, Peyton and Edward Thomas and Jaxon Pascal; sister Heidi (Rob) Dawson, brothers Henry (Margon) Thiessen and Arnold (Peggy) Thiessen as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Abe was predeceased by his parents, Abram and Susanna Thiessen and his three brothers, Ernie, John and Art.
A Viewing will be held at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 – 17 Street, Coaldale, AB, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The Interment will follow the Viewing at the COALDALE MENNONITE CEMETERY at 11:30 A.M. The Funeral Service will be held at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, at 2:30 P.M. with Pastors Gary Giesbrecht and Lil Thompson officiating.
