DRAY, Dennis
Posted: July 27th, 2019DENNIS PATRICK DRAY passed away on July 22 at the age of 86 years old. He will join his beloved wife Dorothy Viola Dray. Dennis leaves behind his children, brothers, sisters and grandkids.
Dennis served 25 years in the Canadian Military in the Engineer Regiment which included oversees appointments in Germany and the Korean War. After his retirement from the military he formed the Hobby Wine and Brew Store and Chez Dray. Thereafter, in the early 1980s he became the Executive Director of the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO) where his passion along with his fellow workers and numerous volunteers created one of the largest membership senior recreation centres of its type in the world. Under his direction Dennis worked hard to make the LSCO affordable such as its $5-$10 membership fee.
Dennis also was a community volunteer over the years as he was President of Lethbridge Minor Hockey, Football, Track and Field Organization and organizer of the Terry Fox Charity Fun Run, the Senior Games and Alberta Summer Games (Track & Field).
God Bless!
My condolences to the Dray family.
I had the pleasure of knowing Dennis over a pint or two. He had a great sense of humor and always shared his great stories. He was a true hero for his time served in the military.
Dear Linda and Family,
So very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!! Much love today and always ♥️
Dear Sons (and families) of Dennis and Dorothy Dray.
Our sympathies on the passing of your Dad Dennis. His joy at being reunited with his lovely ‘Dot’ will bring you some comfort. We have so many good memories of both your parents and watching you young boys grow up. Dave talks about you all every time we see or hear anything about the band ‘KISS’. You are all in our thoughts at this time and I hope in time all your great memories will bring you some comfort.
We hold you in our hearts at this difficult time.
Love and so many memories from Sharon & Dave Bueckert
Well, dear brother, it is with such sadness that we must say fair thee well. I feel you are at peace now with Dorothy, John, Mom, Dad, Nanny and Jennifer. I pray your children can find peace and strength through each other at this difficult time.
Rest in Peace. You will be missed.
With much love,
Your sister, Linda. XO

So sorry to hear of Dennis’s passing. I did not have the privilege of knowing him with only hearing stories from his son Doug. He obviously was involved in many activities in his life and I am sure he left an impression for many but it is obvious he lived a great life. My condolences to all his family who loved him very much.
